Q: What is the club’s remailer?
A: It is a group e-mail account at cdcenymailbox@yahoogroups.com, also known as a broadcast e-mailer.
Q What can the remailer do for you?:
A: This remailer can be used to answer your queries, or to send computer-related messages.
Have a question about your hardware, operating system, or other software? Just send it to cdcenymailbox@yahoogroups.com. All those enrolled will get your inquiry, and most likely, you’ll get an expedient response to your message.
Heard about a good offer? Then immediately share it with others on the remailer. No waiting for the newsletter to publish this info, or for a meeting to happen.
Q: What comes through the remailer?
A: Enrolled users queries, responses to these queries sent out by other enrolled users of the remailer. And the monthly .pdf events flier - with active links. Because this is a restricted group, no spam will come through. Only e-mail sent by other enrolled users.
Q: How can I register to be on the e-mail remailer?
A: When you join as a new member or renew your existing membership, there is a space on CDCENY’s membership/renewal form for your e-mail address and a Yes/No section with "Would you like your e-mail address added to the club e-mail remailer?" Simply write in your e-mail address and indicate "Yes" to be included.
To enroll on-line, visit the club’s website at http://www.cdceny.org. From the links to the left, click on "Join CDCENY’s Email List" and follow the links. Click the "Join! eGroups" button, enter your e-mail address and click the "Request Confirmation Email" button. Almost immediately, you will be sent a confirmation e-mail. To continue joining the group, click on the link provided by Yahoo! From there, select your options. After approval from the moderator, you will then receive a confirmation e-mail that you are approved. You’re in!
People with Yahoo! e-mail addresses can go directly to http://groups.yahoo.com/group/CDCENYMailbox/ and click "Join This Group" and follow the links from there.
Q: Do I need a Yahoo! e-mail address?
A: Though this is an option, you do not have to register with a Yahoo address, nor set up a Yahoo e-mail account. Though other features are available to Yahoo! users, it is not a requirement for being on CDCENY’s remailer. Just don’t select the links for registering with a Yahoo! e-mail address.
Q: I asked a question on the remailer and have not seen any responses what happened?
A: Yahoo utilizes spam folders; it is possible that your question was misdirected into one.  All members of this group are placed into an area that will broadcast any items listed.  If you do not see your response almost immediately you will need to send an email to the group’s owner.  E-mail your concerns to cdcemailer@yahoo.com letting the owner know that you have not received your copy of the question you asked and would they please check the spam folder to see if it was misdirected.
